Michael B. Petrovich Memorial Scholarship »

The Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians - Metropolis of Chicago is pleased to announce the introduction of the Michael B. Petrovich Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship will be awarded to one parishioner of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago who is seeking a Bachelors of Arts degree or higher in Music Theory, Music Composition, Voice, Choral Music, Byzantine Chant, Choral Conducting, Piano, Organ, Music Education, or other related field of study deemed appropriate by the scholarship committee.

For 2018, Outdoor Blessing of the Water Services have been held in ten communities within the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago. Each January 6, Eastern Orthodox Christians throughout the world celebrate Theophany, which in Greek mean “manifestation of God.” The feast day commemorates the Baptism of Christ and the revelation of the Holy Trinity.

His Grace Attends 100th Anniversary Celebration in St. Louis »

His Grace Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, Chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, along with clergy from throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois joined St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in St Louis on Saturday, December 9, to celebrate their 100th Anniversary at a Black-tie Gala at the parish’s Family Life Center.

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago is proud to announce a series of educational presentations to be held in Milwaukee throughout January, February and March of 2018 concerning the Holocaust in Greece and the heroic effort by the Greek Orthodox Church and citizens of Greece to shelter and hide Greece's Jewish population from the invading Nazi forces during World War II.
