LOMBARD, IL, August 6, 2020 – The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago announced today that the property of the former Metropolis Center, located at 40 E. Burton Place in Chicago, will be listed and marketed for sale. Details related to the sale of the historic property can be found HERE.

“Burton Place has served the Metropolis of Chicago well for several decades,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael. “But after consultation with real estate experts, we believe securing office space with modern amenities and facilities will best advance the mission of the Metropolis to serve and support its parishes and broader communities.”

The decision to sell the Burton Place property was approved and made possible by the delegates at the 2019 Clergy-Laity Assembly and by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Accordingly, sale proceeds will be used to secure a new Metropolis Center, including office space for Metropolis professional staff as well as a residence for the Metropolitan.

To assist with the marketing of the property, the KlopasStratton Team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago was selected by the Metropolis of Chicago after a competitive bidding process.
